The Belarusian National Biotechnology Company (BNBC) has disclosed that it plans to start selling dried wheat gluten and some other protein products to foreign customers through the Belarusian General Commodity Exchange.

The company said that BNBC has begun to sell amino acids, compound feeds and premixes to customers in the domestic market through the commodity exchange.

The company added: “As the largest gluten producer in Belarus, BNBC hopes to use the exchange to increase export sales efficiency through price increases during the trading period.”

The company plans to sell beet syrup and molasses gluten on the commodity exchange within one trading day, because Russian companies may have demand for all of these products. Currently, BNBC believes that Russia is the main sales market for these products.

In the future, in order to increase the level of competition and expand the geographic area of exchange sales, potential buyers from other countries, including the European Union, will be attracted to the European Union, where the dry wheat gluten market is estimated to be approximately US$1 billion. Trade in protein products.

BNBC is gradually launching production facilities and making the first bid for amino acids.

"The first gluten sale bid-10 tons-will be held at the auction on December 2, 2021. In addition to wheat gluten, BNBC also provided trial batches of wheat protein starch products-2 batches of 100 tons-and L- Lysine sulfate – 2 batches, 20 tons each. Like gluten, it is a deeply processed product used as a feed additive. The target market is again Russia,” the company said.

BNBC general manager Danil Uritsky said in a September statement that BNBC will soon be fully designed and produced in 2022.

In 2022, the company is expected to produce 100,000 tons of feed amino acids-lysine, tryptophan and threonine, with a profit of 700 million US dollars. Uritsky said that only 20,000 tons of feed amino acids were shipped to the domestic market. After reaching the fully designed production performance, BNBC is expected to become the largest feed additive manufacturer in the post-Soviet era.
